Garhwal region, another name for abode of gods has been destination of devoted pilgrims from world over since time immemorial. We have some of the most important pilgrim centre in India and world:

Badrinath Temple:
Badrinath Temple is the abode of Lord Vishnu. It is situated at an altitude of 3130 m at the banks of Alaknanda. At the backdrop is the NeelKanth mountain peak situated between twin peaks named Nar and Narayan. The name of the place is derived from wild berries called Badri.

Nearby Places of Interest: Vasudhara, bhim pul, vyas gupha, yogadhyan badri, bhavishya badri, adibadri, alkapuri, satopnath , panchshilas, panchdharas, mata murty temple, mana Village.

Best Time to Visit: May to October every year the temple usually remains open from first week of May to 2nd week of November.
Dehradoon

Kedarnath Temple:
Kedarnath temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple is situated at an altitude of 3580 mtrs amidst the background of snow covered mountain peaks and greenery.

Temple is built of large, heavy and evenly cut gray slabs of stones and is considered more than 1000 years old. The temple has a garbha griha where the conical rock formation is situated and a Mandapam for seating of pilgrims and visitors.

Nearby Places of Interest: Rudranath, tungnath, madmaheshwar, bhairavnath temple, adri shankarcharya samadhi, chandrashila, devaria tal, vasuki tal.

Best Time to Visit: May to October every year the temple usually remains open for visitors.

Gangotri Temple:
Gangotri shrine, situated at an altitude of 3,200 mtrs, surrounded by the mountain peaks of shivaling, satopanth and bhagirathi sisters.

Gangotri temple is dedicated to Goddess Ganga and the sacred stone where Raja Bhagirath is believed to have worshipped Lord Shiva. Submerged in the river here is the natural rock Shivalinga where Lord Shiva is believed to have received the Ganges (called Bhagirathi here) in his matted locks.

Yamunotri:
The shrine of Yamunotri, situated at an elevation of about 3,235 mtrs, western region of Garhwal Himalayas. Goddess Yamuna the river goddess is worshipped here and has special significance in Hindu scriptures. The idol is made of black marble.
